The first ever national #VillageHallsWeek will run from 22 – 25 January 2018. This
fantastic opportunity to highlight the valuable role that village halls provide to
England’s rural communities is being co-ordinated by the national body for rural
community councils, ACRE.
It aims to raise awareness of the vital role that village halls play in our rural
communities and to celebrate the great work of the volunteers who tirelessly manage
and maintain them for the benefit of local people.
As part of the week-long celebration, the Community Council of Staffordshire will
be focusing its campaign on the opportunities that come from Staffordshire halls
being digitally connected. So we are asking all village hall committees to send
us links to their websites, facebook and Twitter pages. We will include the links
on our website and will follow the halls on our social media feeds, which will help
promote their facilities, events and activities.
We are also asking for photographs and short stories illustrating how well used and
loved halls are. We would especially like to hear about any events or activities
taking place between the 22 and 25 of January 2018. However, we are also happy to
receive information and photographs of regular activities that take place in your
local hall,.success stories ie. receiving grant aid, local fundraising or volunteers
helping to improve their hall or maybe you would like to take this opportunity to
publicly thank someone on your village hall management committee for their dedication
and hard work?
Please send any items that you would like featured in our social media posts to:
